US reports 145 pediatric flu deaths this season 2023
According to the most recent data that was provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States, there have been a total of 145 cases of pediatric influenza-related mortality reported so far this season in the United States.
According to a report by Xinhua news agency, which cited the data that was published on Friday, there have been at least 26 million instances of the flu, 290,000 hospitalizations, and 19,000 deaths thus far.
There were 979 influenza-related hospitalizations in the week that ended on April 22.
As long as there is influenza activity, the governing agency for public health advises that all individuals aged 6 months and older receive an annual vaccination.
According to the CDC, there are other antiviral medications for the flu that may be obtained with a prescription and used to treat flu disease. The CDC recommends that treatment with these medications begin as soon as feasible.
