Pancreatic cancer’s early indications 2023

The pancreas is a profoundly buried organ that resides behind other organs, such as the stomach, small intestine, liver, spleen, gallbladder, and bile ducts, making it difficult to detect cancerous tumors in the pancreas until they have become too large or have migrated to other parts of the body.

However, there are some common warning signs that may indicate the presence of pancreatic cancer. It can be difficult to detect pancreatic cancer in its early phases, and often there are no discernible symptoms until the cancer has progressed.

Pancreatic cancer has no early symptoms. These early warning symptoms

In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr. Kanury VS. Rao, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at PredOmix, stated, “Pancreatic cancer is often referred to as a’silent disease’ due to the fact that early-stage symptoms may not be evident.

Potential early warning signs of pancreatic cancer include jaundice or a yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes, which is caused by an excess of bilirubin, persistent upper abdominal pain that may extend to the back, unintentional weight loss, loss of appetite, changes in bowel movements, and new-onset diabetes.

As pancreatic cancer symptoms are nonspecific and may be caused by other conditions, early detection is crucial. Consult a physician if symptoms persist or worsen. Individuals may have a greater chance of favorable outcomes and enhanced quality of life if they are diagnosed and treated early.”

Dr. Ranjit Kumar CS, MBBS, DNB (Hematology), DM (Medical Oncology) at Tattvan E-Clinics, agreed and highlighted warning signs:

  • Jaundice is characterized by yellowing of the epidermis and eye whites.
  • Abdominal or back pain: persistent or recurrent abdominal or back pain.
  • Unexplained weight loss is the sudden decline of body mass for no apparent reason.
  • Problems with digestion include nausea, regurgitation, and gastritis.
  • Fatigue is a sensation of persistent weariness, frailty, or exhaustion. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is imperative that you seek medical attention immediately.
  • However, these symptoms may also be caused by other conditions; therefore, it is essential not to rush to conclusions without a thorough medical evaluation.
